Daisy's Challenge at People's Choice

We are excited to announce the participation of Daisy Maldonado, one of Mission Montessori’s graduating students and passionate participant in the DanceSport Education™ program at Mission Montessori’s St. George campus at the 2018 People's Choice Dancesport Competition! 

We would like to invite you to join DanceSport Education™ and Mission Montessori Schools in support of Daisy Maldonado ’s Personal Challenge at People's Choice Dancesport Competition! 

Daisy participates in the Personal Challenge Activity, as part of Mission Montessori’s curriculum. “The Personal Challenge Activity students are participating in is a part of the Heroic Journey Program based in the writings of Joseph Campbell and his stages of the hero’s journey and is an essential part of the Montessori Method education curriculum for middle school students. Along the journey, the student will hear the call, meet their allies and ogres, intimate change within themselves for the better, travel along the road of trials, find the key and receive the boon, share the treasure and finally attain recognition and celebration. The Personal Challenge is an activity where the student creates a relationship with an adult ally who helps mentor them in attaining new skills along their journey. The Personal Challenge connects students with the community and builds confidence and communication skills.” 

Daisy’s Personal Challenge is to prepare and compete at a ballroom competition. Donovan Dominguez, one of the top-rated ballroom dance professionals at Imperial Ballroom Dance Company and DanceSport Education instructor at Mission Montessori is the adult, who will help mentor her in attaining the ballroom dance competitive skills along her journey. She will have to learn all 4 dances from the American Style competition program – Slow Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot and Viennese Waltz at competitive level and compete with her age and skill level peers at one of the best dancesport competition events in Arizona – People's Choice. 

SPECIALLY PRICED TICKETS: Forrest Vance, 7 time US Champion, and organizer of People's Choice Dancesport Competition wholeheartedly welcomes Daisy’s Challenge at his event. Your cost will be $5 for children and $10 for adults.
